DESIGN AND VISION

Sky House is derived from the homes unique roof gardens and expansive glazing creating bright, airy and spacious accommodation with unrivalled views from every level. Designed by award-winning Architects CODA, based on the ‘back-to-back’ housing concept – Sky House Construction aims to establish a close-knit neighbourhood that is centred around open spaces. The design references the area’s industrial heritage with saw-tooth roofs in a sensitive contemporary style echoing commercial developments of the past.

SYSTEMS APPROACH

Featuring 40 of the next generation three and four-bedroom Sky Houses – Waverley Phase 02 is composed of the best of urban living at the heart of a new residential community in South Yorkshire.

The structural light steel system for the development has been designed in collaboration with our Etex Group partners Siniat, Promat and FSi, researched and developed using the latest products, technical know-how and manufacturing excellence of the combined team.

Our Thrubuild® range has been developed to form external, internal separating and dividing walls together with dividing and separating floors. Supplied as a tried and tested custom-designed kit of parts, the Thrubuild® system includes steel framing, external Siniat Weather Defence sheathing, rock mineral wool insulation, Siniat internal drylining, ancillary parts, fixtures and fittings.

By considering and rigorously testing all components together as a complete system, Thrubuild® can be relied on to offer excellent fire, acoustic, thermal and structural capabilities to meet the needs of the Sky House Construction team.

Engineers from EOS worked with CODA’s architectural team to rationalise their design by adjusting walls and loading path lines through the building, optimising the cold rolled steel Thrubuild® solution and value engineering out various hot rolled steel elements. Reducing costs and construction carbon emissions.

By working with strategic partner light steel frame specialist EOS, Sky House Construction has embraced the very best in offsite technology to produce a range of precision-engineered housing types that can be delivered to the highest quality on fast-track construction programmes.
